While Samsung just released an invite for its Galaxy Unpacked 2018 event happening on February 25 ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, the Galaxy S9 has now been spotted in a couple of leaked videos. The videos apparently give a glimpse at the upcoming Galaxy S series flagship and confirm the presence of a thin-bezel, Infinity Display panel that would deliver an upgraded experienceover the last year's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.
One of the two videos, which first surfaced on Weibo on Wednesday, appears to highlight the touch sensitivity of a Samsung Galaxy S9 unit that would be in a testing phase. The 10-second video doesn't reveal the interface, which is quite likely to be powered by an Android Oreo version. However, it does show the display in an active state with a keyboard in the Chinese language. The front panel appeared on the small video seems to be identical to the one debuted on the Galaxy S8.
Folks at SlashGear have reported the emergence of the hands-on videos alongside mentioning the dimensions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The Galaxy S9 is said to have 147.6x68.7.8.4mm of dimensions that make it a thicker and wider but shorter than the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, is rumoured to have 157.7x73.8x8.5mm of dimensions - making it shorter, wider, and thicker than the Galaxy S8+. Both the new smartphones are likely to include a larger battery pack than their predecessors. This might be the reason for gaining some thickness.
Having said that, Samsung is building its new ISOCELL camera technologies to enhance image results as well as maintain a thin overall profile. There is Tetracell technology to uplift low light images as well as a Smart WDR feature to enable the camera sensors to capture multiple exposures in a single shot.
A recently leaked retail box that allegedly belongs to the Galaxy S9 showed that the smartphone will sport a 'Super Speed' camera technology. The in-house technology will accompany a Dual Pixel 12-megapixel camera sensor and a lens that supports optical image stabilisation (OIS) and have f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture sizes. Further, the retail box highlighted the presence of stereo speakers that are tuned by AKG.
Details about the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are likely to reveal through an official channel at the Galaxy Unpacked 2018 event that is scheduled for February 25. Meanwhile, you can expect some more leaks and rumours.
